Fire Fighter 1:
February 21 & 28           8am to 5pm Class

Prerequisites:
Essentials with burn class
Basic first aid with current CPR card
HAZ MAT Operations Cert.

Special Vehicle Rescue- Greater Valley EMS will be hosting Special Vehicle Rescue on March 13 & 14, 2010. This is the 16-hour state course.

Pre-requisites: BVR-T

Gear: Turn-Out-Gear, NO Extrication jumpsuits will be allowed.

Course Description: This course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Basic Vehicle Rescue to prepare the student to deal with rescue situations involving larger vehicles such as buses and large trucks. A written exam is administered at the conclusion of the course for Pa. Certification as a Special Vehicle Rescue Technician.

This course is open to all EMS, Fire, Police and Public Safety personnel. There is a minimum of 15 students for this class, or the class will be cancelled. There is no fee for this class. Pre-registration is REQUIRED, prior to March 3rd, 2010. NO walk-ins will be accepted. There is a 30 student MAXIMUM. To pre-register, please e-mail hall_derrick@gvems.org.

Course Description: The goal of this course is to provide the First Responder with the training needed to comply with NFPA 472 Chapter 5 Competencies for the First Responder at the Operational Level, and 29 CFR 1910.120 OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, (HAZWOPER), First Responder Operations Level. This program is designed to give the first responder the necessary skills to handle hazardous material emergencies.

This course is open to all EMS, Fire, Police and Public Safety personnel. There is a minimum of 15 students for this class, or the class will be cancelled. There is no fee for this class.
